All sessions begin with a consultation to discuss options and to develop a plan designed to meet your needs. My personal style is to find ways to provide photographs with an artistic flair. My work is guaranteed; if you are not satisfied I will provide a second photo shoot and you will not be charged a second sitting fee.

How far in advance should I reserve my session?

Usually two or three weeks. For a stylized photo session (Package 1) allow up to four weeks advance notice.

When is my payment due?

A $150.00 retainer is due with your signed contract at the time of the booking. Balance is due on the day of your photo session.

What should I do to prepare for my photo session?

Please be sure your horse, tack, and area of the shoot are clean and free of debris. Check your clothing for loose buttons, threads, wrinkles, etc. Read and sign your contract and release (find these on this website) and most importantly, prepare to have fun! This is your special day.

What do we do in the event of bad weather?

Rescheduling for inclement weather is no problem and requires no additional payment.

What if I need to cancel?

Your retainer will be refunded.

May I bring along a friend for help or support?

Absolutely! This should be a fun experience. It is often helpful to have someone to assist with hair, makeup, or to hold your horse while you change clothes. I encourage helping hands!

What if I am nervous or uncomfortable during the session?

No worries! I usually take a few “warm-up” photos until you feel comfortable in front of the camera.

What if my horse is uncooperative during the session?

It is not unusual for a horse to be fidgety during a photo shoot. I can work with all horses and have developed methods for catching just the right shot.

When can I expect my photos?

Please allow up to three weeks.

How will I receive my photos?

Depending on the photo session you select, your photos will be sent to you on a flash drive or digitally. Prints will be sent via mail.

How do you accept payment?

Paypal at, check, or cash is accepted.

Can I share photos on facebook or instagram?

Yes you can! In fact, I encourage it! You can use your digital files for any purpose you choose. Photo credit to Dawn Richard Photography is always appreciated.

Do you shoot weddings, family photos, or senior photos?

As an equine photographer I usually limit my sessions to photos of horses and horse and rider. However, I do welcome other pets and will be happy to take photos of all animals. And if you’re a bride on a horse please hire me to be your portrait photographer! If my schedule allows I will occasionally offer family photo sessions.

Do you shoot candid photos of farm or ranch life?

Yes! My timeframe would be a two or three hour session (Option 2) Contact me for details.

What if I need a photographer but my needs don’t fall into any of the session options?
